I want to read every Beth Kery book! 'Explosive' is a great name for this book as I hung onto the pages that were full of explosive seduction and mystery. Plus, Thomas Nicasio was a former Navy bomb (explosive) specialist (think sexy expert with focus and precision). Thomas ended up injured and dazed on Doctor Sophie Gable's dock at Haven Lake where Sophie was on a getaway. From this moment in the book, I was whisked away into their world that I can not bring myself to spoil here in any way! I will say I loved being all caught up in them and wondering while reading what happened to bring him there and would they get a happily after ever or only just a secluded rendevous?I trust Beth Kery. I have read several of her books. She doesn't give it all away from the start and the things you need to know that she doles out along the way are just the way I like a story told. Her stories are also very, wonderfully erotic. Her descriptions in the beginning of the book set the stage of anticipation for a huge attraction for the characters. It's not like Thomas and Sophie were strangers, but they were only acquaintances with a huge "across the room" attraction to one other. This book is more than just attraction. It is scenery, time in a bubble away from impending mayhem and a sexual awakening for Sophie. So the perfect storm that brought them together intimately is ultimately about to get worse.My heart (along with Sophie's) poured out for Tom as the book moved on. In some ways this was pure wonderful non-verbal communication and in other ways, I found it dearly romantic as their backstories made them perfect together. The epilogue was a huge, light treat after their tumultuous beginning and suspenseful ending. Another hit for me!I don't think Beth will mind some quotes:"He looked so different than his polished city-self, but Sophie thought he had never looked more real, more savagely intense than he appeared here at Haven Lake. He may be a whirlwind of grief, but she'd never known a more vibrant man in her life.""Okay I'm ready to play doctor" (Thomas stole my heart in laughter there)"My whole life, " he said quietly, "I never had anything that was just mine." Her eyes burned. For some reason, she knew exactly what that meant
STORY BRIEF:Sophie is a doctor (internal medicine). Tom is an investment advisor who has an office in the same building as Sophie. Tom previously was an explosives expert for the NAVY. Sophie and Tom have seen each other frequently, being in the same building. They have been attracted to each other but never acted on it.Sophie takes a few weeks off to spend time at her parents' lake cottage in central Illinois. To her surprise Tom shows up at her door. He has a bruise on his head. He desperately needs to have sex with her - she is willing. He leaves the next morning. She follows him back to Chicago to try to figure out what is going on. She realizes he has amnesia and doesn't remember going to her lake cottage. An FBI agent sees Sophie with Tom and tells her that Tom is in danger. Sophie asks Tom to come to her lake cottage for a few days. She wants to help him with his amnesia, plus she is falling for him.There have been some murders of people close to Tom, and he may be next. His amnesia isn't helping. But during this time, he has an insatiable need for sex with Sophie. And there is lots of it. It's explicit and includes rear door activity, sex toys, light bondage, and mild spanking.REVIEWER'S OPINION:Tom desperately hungers for Sophie in all ways, and she's happy to comply. The sex scenes were hot. I actually found myself with goose bumps a couple of times which surprised me. I wasn't sure whether it was the book or the room temperature (probably the book). Don't expect any relationship development which would have been nice.An undercurrent is Tom's amnesia, causing him to be distant. Tom hears Sophie talking on the phone about him. She's getting advice from her psychologist friend. She doesn't tell this to Tom and she doesn't tell him about his amnesia because it may hurt rather than help his coming out of it. Therefore Tom is suspicious which creates some conflict/tension between the couple, which was ok.The suspense part of the story relates to murder and Tom's adopted father being investigated for organized crime activities. This is a minor part of the story and happens mostly at the end of the book. It was not typical romantic suspense which has bad guys interacting with good guys throughout the book. But the suspense part was good. The ending was very nice. My favorite Beth Kery books are Daring Time and Release, but this is worthwhile if you like her style.The title of the book touches several things including Tom's past work in the NAVY and a warehouse explosion. But I see it mostly relating to explosive sex, explosive relationships in Tom's past, and Tom's current temperament.DATA:Story length: 326 pages. Loved it! I am a big fan of Beth Kery and Explosive does not disappoint. Tom and Sophie are amazing together and I found the amnesia aspect of this story to be refreshing and interesting. Of course this story is HOT but in addition the characters are well written and I cared what happened to them. Of course the HEA is always the end goal but the road leading to it kept me reading for hours and I could not put this book down.
I have yet to read a Beth Kery book that I didn't really enjoy and this one is no different! In typical BK fashion this book has incredibly hot sex and sexual tension but also and an excellently suspenseful plot!! This book really keeps you turning pages to see what happens next, the character development was really excellent and for me at least it took me a little while to decide what to make of Thomas - In the end I loved both the H/h! To sum up, another hit for Beth Kery, fans jump on this one and for those of you who have never read her, what are you waiting for??
I loved this story, it's not a conventional one. The sexual encounters descriptions absolutely wonderful and the suspense and intriguing plot that come with it, makes the difference Ms. Kerry gives to her stories. I found myself looking for clues to solve the cause of the amnesia Thomas was experiencing and definitely loved the loving way Sophie took care of him. Lovely reading, I recommend it, you'll enjoy it.

This book desperately needs a copy editor. So many grammatical errors! It makes reading the book very difficult, and it makes one wonder if the important stuff in the book is equally as bad. Sloppy, sloppy. And I only just finished Chapter 1....Chapter 2 is even worse. #nomorerunonsentences #agoodcopyeditorispriceless #agoodproofreaderispriceless.
This book sounds like it was written by someone who doesn't speak English. It has a bunch of grammatical errors. Spelling is bad. I thought my spelling was bad but sheesh. And the information that's in here is common sense and if you know nothing about google Adwords you could learn a whole lot more by just logging and and dinking around in google adwords. Pathetic. Waist of my money. Good thing I bought 5 other books about advertising besides this crap.
This is horrible product. I would have gotten the same amount of information by simply contacting Google Adwords. If I had known what the content was I would have not wasted my money.
Few people would say a book about adwords is riveting, but I can tell you that the wealth of information and insight that Perry, Mike, Bryan, et. al. deliver at a blistering pace is breathtaking. This book is worth millions to the right people. Are you the right person? It's up to you I guess.

I enjoyed this one so much. I had a feeling I would, given that Katrina Kendrick is a pen name for Elizabeth May, the author who wrote one of my all-time favorite series. I loved the romance in that, so I knew I had to read this. And it didn't disappoint me, though it was kind of insta-lovey. I'm more into a slow burn, but I loved the relationship between Anne and Richard, and how caring and respectful he was of her when no other man in her life was. This book wasn't light; Anne was abused and sexually assaulted by her fiance since she was a preteen girl, and her father's a right bastard. She'd been through a lot, and it wasn't finished when she realized the love of her life was the man she'd requested give her lessons on how to catch a kind husband. But Richard was oh so lovely; a rake, to be sure, but so good and wonderful. I loved the secondary characters too, and I must know everything about them. Caroline and her duke, Alexandra and her criminal, James and his Emma (gonna read their book this weekend, for sure). I want all the stories, and I want more of these people!Rating: 3.5 stars
I loved everything about Richard and Anne's story . Anne was so different than any heroine I've ever read about and the plot was so interesting . Richard could be any young woman's dream man,they were just perfect for each other. I highly recommend this book ,it was great . But I would like to know what happened to the release of Tempting the Scoundrel , Nicholas and Alexandra 's story was supposed to be released in September. Looking forward to more books by this author, I also read A Touch Wicked enjoyed it just as much. I would also like to read the Duke and Duchess of Hastings story .Thanks for the enjoyable read.
I mean, really. This is the kind of book that makes a person want to write. I'm withholding some petty criticisms about pacing and such, but honestly, I loved it. Amazing tension, plenty of good sex scenes, oodles of chemistry between the lead characters, and lots of interesting side characters too. I can't wait to read about Alex and Thorne. And I hope that the author writes something about Caro, too!

I finished this book in 6 hours. I couldn't put it down. When someone is singing the words to a song you thought only you knew, you can't just walk away.Many reviews have said things about how this is not what you would expect from the woman who brought us My Drunk Kitchen. That isn't how I feel at all. This is just what I would expect. I know from experience. Happy, fun, amusing, inspiring people come out of difficult places all the time. Many of the stories that Hannah tells in this book I could tell a version of myself growing up with a mentally ill father. Hard situations, and less than ideal upbringings don't define who we become, Hannah's story reminds us all of that. It is a hard won lesson for many, including Hannah, and including myself.This book will inspire the cynic who wants to bash "another YouTuber book" and will comfort the outcast who feels alone. I hope that one day I have the courage to put my stories out there, and am so proud of Hannah for reaching that point in her life. I was captivated through the first half, and cried through the second half. This book changed me in ways I didn't know I could be changed. READ IT.

This book was incredible. It made me laugh, it made me cry, and it was like a comforting companion next to me on my nightstand for a couple of days. I finished it in about 5 hours. I knew that Hannah was an amazing person who was striving for, not just success, but purpose. I have been following her since the early days, so I knew all about her Hello, Harto! tour and donated to that Indiegogo and kept up with it live. I was so excited when her 50k goal was more than quadrupled...why? Because the world needs more Hannahs. Witty, sensitive, empathetic activists. The next time someone tries to say millennials are slackers or ungrateful or unwilling to do hard work, show them this book. Hannah started off cleaning toilets as a maintenance manager and is now a wealthy, famous creator of multiple types of content. She is also responsible for tons of volunteering thanks to her Have a Hart Day! annual events (now there is even a membership card!)...not surprisingly, she says this is one of the things she is most proud of, even more so than building a YouTube empire. Which did not happen by accident, by the way - she was very calculated and stuck to her guns even as producers and pitchers were trying to get her to sell, or just radically change, her idea.I hope you will read this book and go on this journey with me. I know most Hartosexuals (that's what Hannah calls her dedicated fans) will already have read this book, but I am hoping some people get to know her backwards, reading this book first and then watching My Drunk Kitchen. Because she is a fascinating person with a troubled, complex childhood first, and an adorable and entertaining drunk chef second (or maybe even third).
I finished this book in one sitting and I can't believe it. I rarely do that. I've followed Hannah Hart since her first My Drunk Kitchen. Watching her grow into the amazing YouTube personality she is. I was so happy to watch her find success.So many parts of this book touched me in a way I wasn't expecting. I knew it was going to be about a side of her we never knew. A side of her she had no obligation to share. I didn't expect it to make my cry. And I did cry. I cried for her. I cried for me. I cried because she hit so many points I could relate to on some level. I laughed because she has a way of using humor to cope. Just like me. I'm actually taking some of her advice. I'm going to try some guided meditation to aid my own healing in regards to my mental health.I admire Hannah even more than I already did.

I am only a few chapters in, but this book delivers powerful insight into the way that media and social media and our own need for confirmation are feeding the division of the country. Everybody needs to read this book and consider whether they may be a part of the problem.
As someone who now eschews political labels, not feeling "at home" or having confidence in either of the two major political parties as they exist today, I have found Glenn's similar journey and insight very helpful. This book examines how social media has contributed to the breakdown of civility and the increase of tribalism in American culture. If you are concerned about these issues, whether you come from a right-leaning background or a left-leaning one, you owe it to yourself to give this book a read. Hopefully, it will encourage those who read it to evaluate their own behavior towards others (as we all have likely contributed to the breakdown without realizing it), and influence the way they interact with people who have differences of opinion in the future.
If you're satisfied with the way things are going in Washington then this book isn't for you. But if you want to understand what's happening to our country's politics--and most importantly, how to fix it--then I strongly recommend "Addicted to Outrage." Few people understand Washington and the media better than Glenn Beck. In this book, he'll walk you through tough questions that encourage introspection and growth. It's well worth your time.
Thought provoking, he understands something on a broader level then most people. Essential reading for the thoughtful mind.
I've been listening to Beck for 20 years, but that doesn't mean I agree with him 100% of the time. I have spent the last 5 years working in social media and writing content for internet outlets. I have seen firsthand how outrage sells, and gets clicks and, well, we have let it become our religion and sadly also our drug of choice. We're addicted to it. I bought this on audio because listening to him speak it brings it really to life. If you're a fan of his radio program, buy the audible. Coming to this outrage addiction that society is suffering from in the same way addicts come to recovery is brilliant. Read it. Listen to it. Then get off your computer, get over your rage, stop online shaming, and go get back into your life.
Thanks again for a sleepless night with a great book. Glenn has inspired us to look at our lives and friends differently, our more left leaning friends, listen to them and react with calm. Our right leaning friends that want to start fighting, explain calmly why they should not. The way to fix our nations problems are clearly stated and can be easily carried out. Thanks to reading most of Glenn's books we have a unique prospective on the America we find ourselves in today. God bless and may the light of truth make it's way through the darkness.
"It’s all your faultâ€, Glenn says. Glenn’s analysis of the problem we are facing in America is that we—you and I and all of us, or most all of us—are addicted to outrage. He misses the obvious: communism has failed abysmally, as has been dramatically and tragically demonstrated over and over again. But, the left is convinced that it will work this time if only the whole western paradigm is destroyed. In this, we see the very definition of addiction: continuing to do the same thing over and over expecting different results. He has failed to see the part that postmodernism is playing in fueling the left’s last desperate attempt to prove that they are right about communism; and in attempting to prove the soundness of their theory, they find it necessary to, in typical alcoholic or drug addict fashion, destroy everything around them. Glenn is a talented man who is knowledgeable about our culture. So, it is a marvel that he seems not to have stumbled onto, as I did, Stephen Hick’s, “Explaining Postmodernism,†(published in 2004). If he had read Hicks before setting out to write “Addicted to Outrage,†he could not have failed to realize that our traditional ways of “thinking†will not save us from the left-wing assault on the balance between unity and diversity (the universe) that has been gaining momentum for the past two hundred years and is now reaching its crescendo. Our cultural conversation (the logos) in which we stand in our westernized version of the cosmos, built on the foundation of Plato’s attempted harmonization of Heraclitus’s diversity, and Parmenides’ unity, is now in its final phase of being destroyed—deconstructed. Our foundation in Lockean rational empiricism was always shaky. It did not help that Fredrich Nietzsche decided to take a hammer to Plato’s embrace of Parmenides’ unity and in embracing Heraclitus set out to destroy unity, western humanism, God, and the universe as we know it: The true world—we have abolished. What world has remained? The apparent one perhaps? But no! With the true world we have also abolished the apparent one.1Being nice and reasonable is not going to stop the Nietzschean diversity juggernaut that has embraced chaos over cosmos. The movement is out to destroy reason. “Reason,†writes Michael Foucault–one of the architects of postmodern deconstructionism–“is the ultimate language of madness.†Any person who knows anything about addiction recovery knows immediately that Glenn Back does not know anything important about addiction recovery. The subtitle of this book says it all: Thinking Like a Recovering Addict Can Heal the Country. Addiction recovery is a process of teaching people how to act—not think. “Take twelve steps,†the world of recovery urges us. Glenn insanely entitles five chapters of his book, as well as having the last word of his book be, “think.†The last paragraph says it all, “Here is what I’m asking: think. That’s all; the next time you dive headfirst into a political discussion and your blood starts flowing and your voice begins rising and gets a little strident, think. (The advice that is usually given in this circumstance is to take a breath and count to ten. AA advises this as well as prayer, call your sponsor, go to a meeting.)2 Glenn’s “think†formula does not work for addicts. A couple of favorite sayings in the world of AA are, “Our best thinking got us here;†and, “Don’t think, don’t drink, go to meetings.†Glenn is clearly unaware that he is a loyal follower of Rene Descartes: I think, therefore I am. He refuses to acknowledge that the postmodern opposition is committed to irrationally and not thinking. Addicts who want recovery, I say again, are taught to act—to take twelve actions, steps—which lead to learning— not how to think—but how to actually “hear.†To practice the presence; to learn to listen to the voice of “a power greater than ourselves.†AA, the original twelve-step program was birthed out of Rev. Frank Buchman’s Oxford Groups. Buchman was using a set of principles, which later became the steps, to teach people to hear from God. The ‘logos’ in twelve step recovery is not something you think; “it†is something you hear. Glenn, as a recovering alcoholic should have shared with his readers what the problem is, “we are selfish and self-centered…extreme examples self-will run riot, though we usually don’t think so…and we must get rid of this selfishness, we must, or it kills us.â€3 It’s his job (responsibility) as a recovering alcoholic to share his experience strength and hope with others. But Glenn, though expressing hope, does not seem to have gained any of the experience and strength which is common to all ‘recovered’ 12-steppers: Step Twelve – “Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps we tried to carry this message to others….â€4 Glenn may have had some sort of spiritual experience which humbled him slightly and made his compulsion less severe as the result of belonging to a 12-step group, but he does not seem to have gained the promised spiritual awakening and he does not act or speak like a person who has internalized the twelve actions (steps) necessary to have a complete psychic change. I do not mean to be judgmental. But Glenn does not yet seem to have made much progress in stepping out of self-centeredness. How else does one explain why he would try to come up with another path? In his last chapter, which he entitles, “On Saving The World,†he proposes a 10-step program which he names: My Glenn Beck coming together to save America Program (so much for the idea of humble anonymity or being a member of the “we.â€)5 Actually, Glenn does not claim to be a ‘recovering (or recovered) alcoholic,’ unless I missed it somewhere. He admits to his alcoholism and says that he got better by going to AA and then to a Mormon addition recovery support group. You know he does not have real recovery when he says, “it isn’t simple or easy.†AA, however, says that it’s, “simple, but not easy.†Glenn says that “it requires strength to do it.â€(recover) ; Twelve Step recovery starts with an admission of powerlessness, “6 We admitted we were powerless over…(whatever)...and that our lives had become unmanageable.†We are insane (Step 2), and we come to believe that, “God is doing for us what we could not do for ourselves.â€7 Glenn is simply confused and is spreading this confusion all around our world. I beg him to read Stephen Hicks and listen more closely to what he and Jordon Peterson are saying about the challenges of postmodernism. Read Heather McDonald’s book on the “Diversity Delusion.†Read Russell Brand’s sober and humble outreach to an addicted world: "So whilst this program will work for you regardless of creed or lack of creed, it will also disabuse you of the notion, however conscious of it you are, that you and your drives are the defining motivations for your life. The reason I worked the 12 Steps was because I was desperate. The reason I continue to is because they have awakened me to the impossibility of happiness based on my previous worldview: that I am the centre of the world and that what I want is important." Rarely have we seen a person fail who has thoroughly followed our path.9 P.S. I feel Glenn’s pain. There is still unhealed trauma.10 It is quite painful. There is help. I pray that Glenn comes and joins us “as we trudge the Road of Happy Destiny.†P.P.S. AA was founded when Bill Wilson met Dr. Bob and said to him, “I need to talk to you or I will not be able to stay sober.â€11 Both Bill and Frank before him believed that their methodology would one day say the world. We don’t need another program. We need you, Glenn. We cannot grow in our sobriety without you.1 Nietzsche, Fredrick, Beyond Good and Evil2 Addicted to Outrage (ATF) Chapters: 25. I guess I was more of a coward. That is the way I used to look at it. I was too afraid to kill myself.†The pain here is palpable. His Wiki bio says that she died in a small boat accident on Puget Sound. She and a male companion both drowned. There were, according to the report, no witnesses. The vagueness regarding these facts is symptomatic of what is coming to be known as an addiction to “underbeing.†Lack of healing is the source of the chaos in Glenn’s life. It pervades his work. It would be great if Glenn could be free of this addiction and become the world changer he is meant to be. Maybe ALANON could help or the Adult Children of Alcoholics Program. (ACOA). This is OK, BUT should be renamed as "Maple Syrup Recipes". Nearly every recipe calls for maple syrup.
Great idea. Using this diet now. I feel so much better than I did before following it. Not hard to follow.
I'm learning to have a more plant based diet, with some animal protein added in. This book is a big help. The recipes are easy and well organized. This is just what I needed to help me stay on track.
Easy to read but needs a better set up what to eat such as breakfast...2 oz protien, 1/2 c of veggies, 1 fruit versus to eat per day...(liked about BLE)

Still learning and reading. This was a basic read but some grammatical errors bothered me.... hope to try some recipes.
love Pegan. Vegan was harder due to husband's health issues and need for extra protein yet still eat healthily.
